NG April Exchange - What did you get?

oooo getting them already! I’ve been expecting to wait a couple more months for mine to arrive. What does the length of waiting time usually take? I got my confirmation email a few weeks ago.
He's in China so gets his much quicker. I haven't seen anyone in the West get them and actually if you're in the US they are probably on hold for tariff reasons. I recall Squatchy's saying they were now opting out of the CRP because of this.

Even in other, non-tariff-war times, it would easily take 3-4 months minimum - as they'd be sending these with the regular release deliveries to retailers.

mines through DiecastAirplaneStore. They haven’t mentioned anything regarding cancelling orders for that. Would I get my points refunded worst case? sent to another store??

I have mine coming within this week, as my retailer here in Canada has received their batch of CRP models and are in the process of shipping them out.

Curious if retailers in the U.S. will be severely delayed due to the import fee on free models. I'm not totally sure but I don't expect to see mine for a while... I could be wrong, however.

what a shame :( I hope I receive my model eventually! I’m through DiecastAirplaneStore and haven’t heard anything except the shipment confirmation that’s everyone has seen the order n all. I’ll probably shoot an email soon just to get an update on what that situation looks like for them/me.

Honestly it’s just a losing deal for retailers, or at least us. We have to pay shipping from China, then have to ship to you. Collect shipping from you, then ship. Typically with no reciprocal orders to somewhat help the store out. And even with, a now reduced tariff, it still has a high cost for the retailer, in the US, and then trying to get the customer to pay for all those charges. It’s chasing people and we don’t have time to chase if I’m being honest. The last round we got months ago, it took way more effort than it should have to chase those folks. So we have opted out.

It's a good idea from the consumer side but it seems like it has been poorly executed on the retailer side with very little infrastructure or incentive to support this program in the long run as it has been a nightmare with coordination and NG does not accept much responsibility with delays and seem to be totally hands off with the models once they're shipped out of their possession.

We have experienced that, there is almost no benefit to the retailer/ dealer, more of a nuisance to be honest. We get nothing from NG if I’m being honest, and we are left doing legwork to collect, then ship, and honestly no residual orders per se. So we are effectively done with the program.

The only one I got from the April NG Exchnave event was this Qatar Airways Boeing 787-9 as it’s all I could afford to spent following my spending spree from the previous event in December ‘24. I sent it to my retailer in Hong Kong and it arrived as part of my mega unboxing that was recently uploading onto my YouTube channel.

I’m now looking forward to the next event in early August.

Some retailers have been charging a handling fee (in addition to the shipping costs etc) which is a very fair thing to do - and that I support as well - as it'll be ridiculous for the collector to expect this service for 'free' from a retailer - though I'm aware that there are a lot of collectors out there that do expect this to be a free service.
My own retailer has done so as well - and I appreciate and am aligned with that.

I would suggest all retailers to do so - @squatchys_diecast_hangar you as well - it becomes a legitimate income stream too.
