New Apollo mould

Aren't these just the 777s they'd already announced. Not a new mould despite Apollo saying it is. A reappearance of the old Witty 777 moulds.

They'd been talking with me about these the past few weeks asking my advice about the mould. I gave them some suggestions for release options

Still have some problems. Hope it will be better when formally released. My friend is now helping Apollo, so I am quite expecting this mould.
Oh by the way, HX’s 777 is on the way too.
It’s said that they have made the vertical damping of the landing gear on 200 scales.

Of all the types deserving of a “new” mould in this scale - I would say the 777 is not one of them (nor is the 787/A350/A380). I understand that manufacturers see $$$ there but these subjects are already well covered and there is so much opportunity elsewhere.
And it’s not just classics that I’m talking about - a new A220 mould, for example, would be very welcome!

I fully agree. I think every 21st century widebody jet already have a decent mould in the market by now, yet manufacturers keep spending money on new moulds for these same models...

By the way, I know the 777 is a 1990s bird but we can agree that the type's popularity boomed in the 2000s

As much as the fight for classic material carries on I am shocked nobody else has bothered with another A220 for the modern collectorate.

The issue with the 777 lies with the lack of diverse historical content not the abundance of molds on the market.

I think we need new and better 707, 727 or DC-10
HX’s 707/727/DC-10 will be available soon. The reason why many are developing popular types is lots of collectors not only in China but also the world want a better version of popular types. The current mould has got many problems.
If you look at 747, currently there is no 747 after HX. Other brands think that it is good enough and if they develop another 747 probably it will not be so good as what we collectors already have. So there’s no meaning of doing that.
Some are really worried, cuz not many collectors like those “classic” types. They can not earn enough money to keep them going. It’s kind of marketing and surviving strategy.
My personal guessing, anyway.

It’s not surprising we’re seeing these brands making the modern aircraft types. Those who want the classic jets are, unfortunately, a minority. I do think, however, they could sell well if they’re made to be superior to existing offerings.

HX DC-10 you say?! Interesting....

As far as I understand it it is Patriot working on a DC-10...
True, they don’t contradict, right?
Both brands can be working on their DC-10s.
If it sounds really strange or stupid, just take it as an idle talk. When they are finally released, they will bring us the same excitement anyway😃

BTW, 767-200 prototype is really fascinating. However PM has got a lot of orders currently, hurrying the assembly work may lead to lower quality. In China there’s a saying “Good things come to those who wait”. Sincerely hope PM won’t make it in a rush.
