Need help deciding which brand to buy

Hello,

I am looking at buying either the Gemini or Phoenix Hawaiian A330-200 that was recently released. Who has the better mould of the two for these releases? The phoenix one seems to be more expensive for me but i'd rather pay up a bit to get a better mould. Or should I just look for the NG version from 2020 online somewhere?

I am also looking to get a US Airways A320, N106US, which is the "Miracle on the Hudson" plane. Panda has made 2 versions in '17 and '23, AV400 made one in '23 and Aero made theirs in '22. Looking at pictures on MADb, its kinda hard to see which one might be best there.

Any help on what version to look at buying would be appreciated!

Gemini. Phoenix has chunkier gears, the wing slot is different, and just from personal experience Phoenix tends to have printing issues. Finish is also glossier. Guess it’s really personal preference but those are my thoughts

The Phoenix A330 is the better mould overall, but the gears haven't been great of late (the gear on the JC mould is way too low and its sits taildown). The NG would be by far the better option. Mould pictures can be seen at this, admittedly old mould review:

4 Years ago I also did a video comparing A330-200s at the YT channel here:

In terms of the US A320 - Panda is best, then AV400, then Aeroclassics - but all are decent

Thanks for coming in clutch as per usual Richard!

Seems like I may be getting the gemini version if I cannot find an NG one available anytime soon. Thank you!!!

Sounds like you made your decision, but just in case you need a bit more help, here are some photos that I took last night. Livery looks sharp, it is one of the three GJ February releases that I stocked. I'll also PM you.

Man that really looks bad from the side. There's no way the Phoenix edition is worse than that. The length of the gear and the taildown stance are awful

yikes I never realized the tail down was actually that bad… The real plane borderline has the nose pointed downwards not upwards. I wish more retailers would have good side view photos of their models such as these. I’ve always despised the way Gemini takes their product photos. Thank you!

Model looks great except for that ridiculously low main gears 😑

Notwithstanding the low main gears, what the heck is with the window line? I really have a hard time understanding why people bother with GJ 1:400 when to me there is always something glaringly wrong with either the mould or the printing.
