I'd argue they look exactly the same buildwise. In relation to the rings this is another area where HX go all out with their printing like with the plugged windows on their freighters. Should those rings really be as visible as they are on the HX? You could argue that Panda made the right decision to omit them. I'm not saying either is 'better' but when you look at close-up images of a real MD-11 those rings hardly stand out - let alone the way they do on the HX:

If I’m correct in saying so I saw some that had the terrible double plate effect ( similar to Phoenix and Geminijets) but then looking at the AA one it doesn’t!

My AA model from Panda did have a noticeable mismatch of the two inlet pieces and it looks horrible (diameter was slightly off). Same for the Delta, China Easter and Shanghai Cargo examples I had. It just didn't work for me, the gap was way too noticeable.
On the 2 HX versions I own now that part is absolutely flawless. Sold my Pandas and waiting patiently for new AAs and DALs on the HX mould

I think you're both over-reacting, but everyone's free to have their own view. I also think you'll be waiting a while for HX to release either AA or DL.

The inlet is completely fine on my China eastern, it seems to differ piece to piece.

I think you're both over-reacting, but everyone's free to have their own view. I also think you'll be waiting a while for HX to release either AA or DL.

I’m waiting for others first before these two, so it’s no major train crash.
