Legacy Jets American/United ERJ-175's: Worth $60?

In this video, I take a close look at the new Legacy Jets 1:400 Embraer 175 models. Honestly, I'm impressed. The $60 price tag is a big talking point, so this video focuses on whether the detail and realism actually justify that cost. For me, it is. Once you get this model in hand and start noticing all the small upgrades compared to what we’re used to, it really starts to feel like a superb model rather than just another regional jet release.

  1. Nose Landing Gear Detail: The first aspect that stood out to me was the nose gear. It’s way more detailed than what we typically see in 1:400 scale, and it adds realism when you’re looking at the model up close.
  2. Antenna Detail: This is probably the biggest game-changer for most. The added antennas on the top and bottom of the aircraft make it feel far more true-to-life, and we’ve been missing it on the ERJ-175's for years.
  3. No Wing Flex: The wings sit nice and level with little to no flex, which makes a huge difference visually. It just looks cleaner and more accurate compared to other ERJ-175s.
  4. Winglet & Mold Precision: The proportions, especially around the winglets and overall mold, appear more refined and accurate. It looks closer to a real E175 than any other one I’ve seen in this scale.
  5. Printing & Surface Detail: The panel lines, doors, and livery printing are extremely crisp. The printing looks sharper and more precise, which elevates the overall quality in a big way.

$60 is expensive, no question. But for me (and many others), this is a classic case of “you get what you pay for.” When you combine all five of these upgrades into these models, it feels like a step above any other ERJ-175 in 1:400 scale right now, and that’s why I think they're worth it. Enjoy the video!

Great video (Even though I watched it a week ago!)

Glad to be buying that older release 175 off of you
