JC Wings September 2024 Releases

I genuinely don't know what the Australian 789 could be... It has to be a Qantas, as Jetstar only flies 788s. They've done the "Go Australia" livery, and I doubt GJ would let them release a standard or "100 Years" model, so does that mean it might be a Yam Dreaming rerelease? Maybe I'm just delusional 😜

Yeah probably. Maybe a re-release. What I don’t get also is the Hong Kong(Cathay?) 777. We had a Cathay 777-300ER in April, and then a -200 in the old colors in May. I don’t see a reason for a 3rd Cathay 777 for the time being.

Maybe the old (better) livery? Or the hideous new large titles. 🤮

Gosh, why CX why? Why they like to enlarge the titles…

Speaking of the hints, this is my prediction for the Hong Kong B744 - Cathay Pacific brushwing with PW engines - either pax or BDSF. This could mean that the more common RR version would come later - which I highly doubt. I don’t know why but JC seemed to steer clear away from producing B744 with RB211s… And what a surprise to see the African Govt B772L by JC which PHX made a few months ago. The Japanese B748 speaks for itself - a Nippon Cargo Airlines. Could the French A321neo be La Compagnie - if that’s the case I would be mad since I liked the livery but not JC Airbus A320 family.

If I had to guess, probably Cathay Cargo 744 or a passenger variant in the older livery. I’m on a Cathay collecting spree at the monent, so I’ll likely pick it up
It is possible that it's this one:

I've seen the list but I won't give away the content aside from commenting on this one. It is the 'Go Australia' scheme again. Apparently the original announced model was cancelled because GJ wanted to make it but then they changed their mind and so it is back in the JC schedule but with a new part number. Usual tail wagging the dog stuff.

Can you confirm or deny the Air Japan 787 before I place a pre order? Don't want to be waiting on a JC release for months.

Sorry it isn't Air Japan. That would've been part of an earlier announcement as a future model. JC don't re-announce future models when they are ready they just slip them out seemingly at random.

The fact that it is out in Asia already, suggests that that release should arrive in stores elsewhere soon, so your pre-order wait shouldn't be long:

I've never looked at the Air Japan scheme closely - but given the mainstream trend of bland and lazy Euro-whites (Aer Lingus, Lufthansa, Japan Air Lines, Avianca, Zipair, Air Premia, for example), this livery of a new airline with a non-existent design legacy doesn't look too too bad on the 787. Some simple, though effective and memorable (serving recall value though conventionally so) , graphic design trickery going on there.
