Yes, agree with both. And it make takes years before the announce and even more years passing among the announce to the deliver, knowing well JCWings! I am waiting for the Alitalia MD-11 pax since...i don't remember the time.

I think JC Wings is the brand I care less nowadays... what a mess of a brand they are. The same lazy releases, some old moulds which should have been updated ages ago, and the super annoying delays.

Not to mention persistent quality control issues with the models they do manage to deliver. The last three or four JC models I’ve bought have had some problem or the other.

Yeah I got a Swiss a320 Neo and it’s fully covered in this weird popcorn paint texture.

I'd be inclined to give 3D a chance for this subject matter in particular. Sadly, they do not have a retailer in Brasil, so I may bite the bullet on this Q400... When it ever comes out, and not without photo evidence, and feedback of the model. The release suggests that JC senses 3D's presence in the space.

I have no issue with their products in any way and think they offer really great stuff. I just have never had a desire for plastic models and the lure to the hobby for me is in the die-cast realm.

I think 3D printing is the future. While I don’t expect every model to be made this way, the market is super lucrative and you’re only gonna see it grow. The material is good quality too, comparable to Diecast, so definitely worth giving a shot.

I agree very much so! Oh well! They lose out at in the end! All the others worth supporting get the money!! It’s as simple… as that!

I would expect to pay less for 3D printed stuff if it’s truly going to dominate the scale in the future. I totally get the allure of the brand. I stopped collecting all plastic based models when I got into die cast though as it no longer interested me.

So far 3DD models are generally cheaper than similar Diecast models. When I ordered the NWA Dash 8 from 3DD directly, it was $61CAD, equivalent to $44USD. Now that takes into account shipping and import fees from Canada, so it doesn’t tell the true price of the model. The model itself was $49.95CAD, which is about $38USD. The Gemini Jets American Eagle Dash 8 Piedmont retro is $42.36USD, so that’s a win in my books.
