Is the quality of Jethut Models reasonable for the price? (Including 1/400 Virgin Atlantic B 787-9 Dreamliner Jethut Models JH001 Pictures)

Final images I took outside today was of the 1/400 Virgin Atlantic B 787-9 Dreamliner Jethut Models JH001. Was really interested in seeing this one in person when it was initially announced but I really feel like the quality of the model is reasonable for the price. Besides the nose gear, it's an overall nice model in my book and I'm excited to see more of the Jethut models that we have on order when they come in. What do you guys think?

Tbh after looking at the pictures you have here it looks pretty good for $26-$35. My biggest issues with the plane are the paint issues on the engine and the wing root being all white. Other than that small issues like window alignment being slightly off and such are acceptable for the price.

I admit they are quite a bit more expensive than when the idea was originally floated. In general they are decent however the biggest issue is the cockpit printing. On this, the 2nd ANA 787 and the JAL Collection models the cockpit printing is all over the place.

I reviewed the ANA 787 here: https://www.yesterdaysairlines.com/...irlines-boeing-787-9-ja873a-star-wars-jet-hut

If they can consistently fix the cockpit printing then the models will be decent, within their limitations. I have already told them this when they asked for my advice. I also told them the next thing they should improve is the shape of the engine pylons, which are a weakpoint across the board with their moulds.

I'd agree these look ok for the price, even if they couldn't really be described as 'super cheap'. As Richard says, if they can improve the printing which surely is a technique thing versus a cost thing, then they may be onto something here.

Over here they're being sold for €34,-... With the Phoenix version still available and being sold for €45,- I don't see myself getting a JetHut any time in the future, I'd rather spend €11,- more for something that at least resembles a model made in 2022 standards.

I get what JetHut are going for, but unless the price decreases significantly I don't think any 787 of theirs will ever make it into my collection.

Yeah I understand. When this idea was floated originally they were supposed to be a lot cheaper. I guess things have changed with inflation and such, which is a shame.

I just don’t see myself ever putting one into one of my airports cause the details are lacking too much for me for it to look comparable to my other 1:400s. However for people just getting into it or people picking up a souvenir at a shop in the airport I think it will be alright. Had they been more similar to dragon wings better moulds with plastic parts but decent shape would probably have picked some up.

I would say it’s worth the price, good enough detail, the paint on the engines is not great though, but other than that the model seems pretty solid to say the least!

The window line on the Virgin 787 seems to be too high, and the cockpit windows too low! But overall is a quite nice model, but needs to be cheaper. I hope to see JetHut releasing more moulds, specially from the JAL Model Collection.

I'd be very interested in the B727-100 and 727-200. These would be great for custom models!

Jet Hut's price is ridiculous at some retailers. In Japan it's only 3080 yen which is roughly 22 usd. The cockpit printing is among their weakest point, like this one which I had to erase and replace with my decal. Of course this doesn't occur on every single model, some have acceptable cockpit printing but badly placed horizontal and vertical stabelizers.
Jet Hut just revealed their newest release in their JAL Collection: a JAZ DC-10-40, I hope it will come out nice

This DC-10 might be a DC-10-40 instead of a -30 version.
I believe JAL (and subsidiaries) didn't operate the 30 version.

The DC-10 mould of JetHut (DeAgostini or whoever makes these JAL planes LOL) is quite nice in my opinion. However, the poor cockpit window really ruins the looks.

Despite the price, I would like to see a better effort on those cockpit windows. I think daron would do a better job on that.
