Interesting model at the EAA museum Oshkosh

Not really sure where to post this thread so I chose 1:400 for max visibility.
While visiting the EAA Museum in Oshkosh, I noticed this model and was wondering what in the world it is. My guess is a generic plane, but I’d like some input.

Thread moved - should be at "Other scales" section, since this is clearly not a 1:400 scale model.

I believe this was one of the early designs of the 757.

Richard is correct, it was one of the original designs for the 757.
