If I didn’t remember wrongly, the Cathay 747-300 in the Cathay livery.

Basically the cathay 747-300 - it used the -400 wing with the winglets removed. The frame that’s the subject of the model had the newer WBF introduced on the -400.

Correct. This reflects the original design of the 747-300 wing assembly; note the wing-body fairing (WBF) is similar to that of the 747 classics. The last -300s to come off the line (like VR-HON) adopted an assembly similar to that of the new -400.

A small detail HX moulded into their MD-11 wing is the PIP (performance improvement) extended flap fairing, has this ever been done in 400 scale on any other mould before? Just noticed now and quite intrigued

Hx (YY) Wings are just simply the best at the moment,as far as accuracy and detail are concerned!

Their A340s still have some glaring flaws, as does their 747-8 and 747-300 wings. Their classic 747 nosegears are also a bit too tall.

Their moulds aren't bad by any means, they are highly detailed. HX has quickly become one of my favorite manufacturers; that being said, there's still quite a bit of room for improvement, especially on their A340s.

AV400 has your A380 covered. True of their FDs I suppose. However, I hope HX keep pumping out their 744 in all its marvelous glory!

My interest in HX A380s, A340s, & B747s is only for their FDs
