HX Model - Korean Air HL7638

This 747-8i model might be one of the better ones out there, the decals are highly accurate and paint showing the mica mixture of the new Korean Air blue is spot on.

Looking closely at the decals even the most subtle detail is included. One I can point out is that little hole behind the radome just before the nose gear door present only on the 747-8i, often a detail neglected on even 1:200 models, but it is there.

So far, I found only four slight imperfections on the model, which in any way is not really noticeable if you don’t look at it with a scrutinizing eye.

Firstly the radome is a tad bit blunt as compared to the NG Model version which has that feature of the 747 nailed perfectly.

Second is the placement of the cockpit window, its just a teeny tiny bit lower, like a hair strand lower than where it should be, however the dimensions of each window frame are already perfect.

Third is the wing joint, I understand that this is a mould limitation but on their 747-400 models they actually nailed those, hoping that update comes to the 747-8 as well (see HL7644 model for a much more accurate wing joint)

And lastly, theres a slight correction on the border between the blue and the white base paints on the rear curve, the correction is not obvious if you don’t look at it close enough. I don’t know if this is on this specific model only or with the whole release.

Overall, this is a solid “budget” model and I am extremely happy to get it! Being a frustrated repainter on our virtual airline, the aircraft is incredibly detailed, so much so that even the tiniest of vents and spotlights as well as the famous 747 “gear tilt” are all included.

...and the aft fuselage/v.tail. My eyes refuse to accept HXs to resemble a 747.
It really isn't a big issue at all. Can you please at least provide some comparative images (maybe in its own thread?) of this grievous error you percieve because frankly it is barely visible to almost everyone else. The HX 747s are the best available. The list of moulds you're willing to buy must be countable on one hand at this point :ROFLMAO:

I think I tried that more than once and IIRC HX is even working on some of the issues (747Classics share these issues)
Maybe the TO can post a tail to tail of the two Koreans he has. But I'm happy for anyone who can't see the issues

The list of good moulds is pretty long, but those that are good, fit my criteria and are in (good) use might really be countable on one hand.
Which isn't a bad thing as it leaves money and shelf space for more important things.;)

I'm not sure HX are really across the issues you have to be honest. They did message me asking but frankly I wasn't 100% sure myself. I really think one of your photo comparison jobs with annotation would help.
