HX 747 & NG Landing Gear Modification

A few months back I did a retrofit project with some of my HX 747s. I am not a fan of their landing gear. As many already know, it is too long and I also think the shape of the NLG is off. I keep a box of spare parts available to fix up some broken models, but also thought it would be interesting to replace the HX gear with the far more accurate NG gear. Here are a couple photos of the finished job. I also did some landing gear weathering, making them look like they would in the real world.

You did a great job! I'm quite tempted to do the same on my HX B747-100 blank but I currently don't have spare gears.

Unrelated side note: sadly that Cathay 747 cockpit window placement is so poor. Too bad...

Definitely too high, but such an iconic livery so I had to get it.
