Gemini May 2025 Releases

I highly advise not doing any pre-orders at all during this time. They can say anything they want, but they can simply just refund your money for the original price and then list it for what it actually cost them. Not to mention that money could be literally tied up for years. Keep in mind that the retailer attrition rate in the US is going to be very high with the lack of any releases, for in my opinion, and just my opinion, the rest of the year. We don’t do pre-orders for a reason, it can get super messy.
I guess we’ll see what happens with my NG Delta 100 years pre-orders hahaha…

Really?

Not in my experience.

But even if they did, it makes no difference. Say Kam lists a model for $40. Someone pre-orders. Kam does not charge for the pre-order right away. When the model finally arrives, the tariffs have pushed the cost of the order up to, say, $50. Kam will charge then, but will likely charge more than originally agreed on, or cancel the pre-order, or lose money.

I’m confused. I could swear money always left my account the moment I placed a pre order with them.

I went and checked a recent pre order for an NG American MD-80. Order placed February 19, 2025. Paid with PayPal and the charge was posted immediately on PayPal as well as the statement of the credit card used for that PayPal transaction. Model shipped on March 10, delivered march 12. Like I said, IIRC this has always been my experience with Eztoys, and any other retailer for that matter, even for those longer IF200 and JC Wings waiting times. I could be wrong.

Anyway, I am not saying this is bad. Just saying what my experience has been.

Also, @MIAv8Diecast was concerned about models pre-ordered at pre-tariff prices but imported after the 145% tariff. It doesn’t matter when a retailer charges for a pre-order. I guess the only difference is the need to issue a refund or not. I don’t think any retailer will be willing to sell new releases at a lost for too long.
