Gemini Jets October Releases

My biggest concern… that silver grey is super challenging to get right and they haven’t gotten it right on any of their older releases. Secondly the mold is prone to inconsistency from release to release with printing and casting.
my concerns too...!
I have the NG 752 in this scheme - this needs to be a worthy addition to that

Someone will need to make a CRP wish for this. I'm out of points
NG have approved the Bowling Shoe 753 CRP wish - so that one's coming for sure - but this one is much desired - not often that one gets to see a 753 without winglets
Totally agree… I find it shocking the final livery by NWA isn’t as highly regarded as I always thought it was WAY ahead of its time and one of the best liveries of the early 2000’s. It would still hold up if it was in service today.

Yep totally agree. I'll be ostracised for saying this - but the final livery was a fab 21st Century interpretation of the Thermometer - accommodating newer aircraft with substantial composites - and that I never really got to like the Bowling Shoe as much 😬🫣😬🙈, much like UAs Battleship - a curious oddity in their respective lineages

Their final livery is a top-tier favorite for me in terms of 21st century liveries, but across Northwest's history I find Bowling Shoe as my favorite. Thermometer is a close second (not as close as Widget to Deltaflot).

Both the bowling shoe and final livery have a special place in my heart as I grew up as a kid flying Northwest out of DTW and seeing both liveries active at the same time during the transition. To me both were standouts of their time, so I totally get your perspective. I have always thought the compass triangle pointing to the northwest on the final livery tail was foreshadowing of what would become the modern Delta widget on the livery today.

Interesting as I have never been a fan of the thermometer for some reason it just has never stuck with me.

I always preferred thermometer to the final purely on the silver color. It just looks off if I were the one picking it, Iconic none the less. I really love the branding itself. Funny enough I prefer Battleship to tulip and saul bass as well, one of my favorites overall actually🤣

Yepppp absolutely - in so many ways the transition seemed so natural - from a livery design perspective - a brilliant amalgamation of the individual legacies of the NWA Compass needle and the DAL widget.
The A330 looked fabulous in the NWA livery

Of course - the NWA Thermometer is iconic - just like the DAL widget, the AAL Vignelli - and of course lthe CO Jetstream & the UA Saul Bass 🤪.
The sheer bold livery design visions witnessed in that period in aviation is unmatched
With the composites on newer types discouraging any livery with an emphasis on polished metal - like that on the A333, the NWA final livery thus seemed to be a great homage to the thermometer - with the metallic paint fuselage barrel and the red tail

I don't think a lot of people realize the compass pointing northwest heavily influenced the widget in the livery today with the modern Delta.
