Yep definitely a great mould with rolling gear as well. The Gemini has impressive heft compared to Dragon too because of it being entirely diecastAwesome. Thanks!

Agreed I have both and the Gemini one is very niceThe Gemini one is really nice. Everything is essentially seamless.
Plus the camo C5 DW did was the Travis AFB Camo so different livery tooIndeed a great release! How does the GJ C-5 compare to the old Dragon Wings C-5?
The DW might be old but seems to be a fine mould. I hope to pick up a C-5 someday and I wonder which one looks best.
It's actually LachieHareNG barely releases 1 European model, 2-3 American models, and then a dozen + Asian models. Gemini meanwhile releases a 1:400 commercial set containing 50% non-American models. Simple math shows that Gemini’s release is far more diverse. You yourself even commented that it was nice to see the Binter and Cuban models, a complement that falls short because of the subsequent comparison to NG insinuating release inferiority.
Gemini is an American brand, so if NG can release as many Asian models as they want because they’re an Asian brand, the same holds true for Gemini does it not? You claim that NG is catering to the Asian market and are thus justified in releasing handful after handful of Asian models, yet when GJ releases more than 3 American models as an American brand, that’s absurd? GJ at least attempts to be more inclusive yet still manages to draw your ire.
I also spotted a user named LatchieHare using the derogatory term “yanks” to describe American collectors. Instead of enforcing the rules, you like his comment instead.
I’m sorry but your claims of not being biased are laughable.
And the Binter E2 is great - now we need the CRJ-X to accompany it!
Yessssss I know! The type looked fabulous in Binter colours!Unfortunately they no longer operate the type, but it would be welcome anyways!
I think classifying the Cubana release as an American release is wrong. Cuba isn't part of the US and the government has a lot of restrictions on Cuba which have been around since the 60s. Plus Cubana doesn't fly here as a result.
It's a nice release but I wouldn't be putting it under the same umbrella as the US airlines.
Emirates EXPO is one of the worst selling models ever made. Plenty of stock left everywhere on the 1st release, including 1/200. Who's the idiot at corporate wants to redo it againDespite my enormous bias against GeminiI have a surprisingly large number of nice things to say about this bunch of models. Diverse it isn't but there's quite a bit of potential nonetheless:
It's 100% aimed at the US market and Cuban Americans isn't it. I suspect not a single copy is getting to Cuba. I suspect my understanding of Cuban history is probably more extensive than yours!I think classifying the Cubana release as an American release is wrong. How can it be aimed at US collectors if they don’t even fly here? By that logic I might as well call Bahamasair a US airline! It's 100% aimed at the US market and Cuban Americans isn't it. Sometimes you seem to be ignorant on purpose Skippy. This is how:How can it be aimed at US collectors if they don’t even fly here? By that logic I might as well call Bahamasair a US airline!
I don’t know how well the previous Cubana ATR release sold, but some American collectors I’ve talked to (one of whom is from an area with many Cuban Americans) have expressed no interest in it and would rather see other models instead. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more out there.
I appreciate the reading material to start my morning, but I’m still not in agreement with calling this Cubana ATR an American release.Sometimes you seem to be ignorant on purpose Skippy. This is how:
'The Cuban American population in the United States is substantial, with over 2.4 million people identifying as Cuban American in 2022'
It is because America is full of Cubans, which you'd know if you knew anything about anything. Please learn some history: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_post-revolution_exodus

There are millions of Asian immigrants in the US. Does that mean Asian releases are American models by extension? As the old saying goes 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make then drink'
Clearly 2.4 million Cuban emigres in the US doesn't make it the market this model was aimed at whereas an impoverished heavily sanctioned country where few can even afford a 400 scale model is the target market. How could I be so wrong?
There are also millions of African immigrants in the United States. If an African model is released, does that make it an American model?Sometimes you seem to be ignorant on purpose Skippy. This is how:

I don't think his math was incorrect. He stated that 50% of the commercial models were non-American. The extra American model you're referencing is a military model. That is only a recent event due to tariffs. How many times does this need to be said? Until recently NG made a lot more diverse sets and then the Trump administration decided to impose massive levies on China, which have had the knock on effect of not only seriously damaging production of US models but also damaging the economies of the rest of the world too! GJ has to make US models because if it doesn't it is curtains for them.
5 of this set of 9 models is American and frankly the Cubana is basically an American release too. It is clearly aimed at the US market and not global collectors - certainly not Cuban ones.
So do your maths properly. There is about 30% of this set that isn't for the home US market and one of those is a corporate Emirates release.
An American model even if military and c'mon don't be facetious Cuban models are clearly aimed at the US market's Cuban buyers. Now you're just arguing for the sake of it.I don't think his math was incorrect. He stated that 50% of the commercial models were non-American. The extra American model you're referencing is a military model.
