I wonder why Gemini stopped releasing these. There are so many cool liveries waiting!
Would be cool if Aeroclassics could also have their DC-8-70, since many of these released are quite obscure classics.
Gemini have released some great DC-8s but there's more out there!
Not just DC-8-70's.... the entire DC-8 family should get new moulds, as well as some other airliners. For example, JC released a DC-9-30 not so long ago, but in the Aeronaves TSM colors, which is not a retro livery. Instead, they re-release Dragonair L1011's without choosing from the endless amount of well-known paints which would sell even on their Tristar mould which is inferior to NG.
Aeroclassics has done a great job making older collectors satisfied, but they also stopped making some obscure models like the Constellation or Comet 4. Also, some of their moulds lack in quality, but even then they are great to have because Aeroclassics is the only manufacturer who does the obscure/retro liveries on the moulds which others also have, as well as the only one who makes DC-8's, Caravelles and others rather frequently.
That being said, it is a shame that no newer, aerial equipped moulds of the DC-8 or Connie or the Trident haven't been developed in the recent years, especially with the quality that NG proved is possible in 1:400 scale!
I'm glad that
@3D Design Deck is filling up at least some demand for such moulds (737 classic, DC9).
I hope that Gemini, JC and Aeroclassics step up their game and get out of the mindset that there are less older collectors today than before because there are A LOT of us who are young AND love older airplanes!!!
Btw. I also hope NG sees the significance of retro models like the 727 which has multiple fire icons on their wish page. I hope they surprise us with this or a DC mould next year once they perfect all the other moulds.
