Ethiopian in 1:400 and my collection

Hello everyone, some of yall may know me from various groups, but this is my first thread on MAF which showcases my Ethiopian fleet in 400 scale. The collection includes:

#39041 NG Ethiopian A350-900 ET-AVE (Celebrating our 10th A350 sticker)

#39042 NG Ethiopian A350-900 ET-AYA X2

#39088 NG Ethiopian A350-900 ET-AYN (Star Alliance)

AV4274 AV400 Ethiopian A350-1000 ET-BAW (1st A350-1000 in Africa sticker)

GJETH597 GJ Ethiopian B737-700 ET-ALK

#202136 Panda Models Ethiopian B737-700 ET-ALN

GJETH1019 GJ Ethiopian B777-200LR ET-ANN

PH410881 PHX Ethiopian B777-300ER ET-APX

#55061 NG Ethiopian B787-9 ET-AUO (Beijing)

#55063 NG Ethiopian B787-9 ET-AUP (London) X2

As of now, the fleet is expected to grow tomorrow (funny enough) with the PHX A359 should arrive. I also plan on getting 5 of the JC Max 8s that were announced. The biggest gaps in the fleet are the 788s which are long haul work horses ( I do have one on the way but it’s not enough) and the 737-800/ Max 8 which have been made rarely (in the -800s case never made). I cant wait for all of them to be displayed when my ADD mat arrives very soon!

I was really surprised when Panda made the -700 version as Ethiopian has always had much more -800s that commonly operate to most African countries (the -700s that are in service mainly operate the Juba shuttle). In addition, I would like a new 777-200LR option other than the dated GJ from years ago along with the 788. I believe they can be nice sellers as these form the basis of most of their long haul operations in North America (minus YYZ, IAD) along with destinations like ICN, SIN, HKG, NRT, BKK, and a few more destinations in Asia. That's why I hold out some hope on the release of those new models at some point in time (also another A350-1000 without the sticker wouldn't hurt too).

Very nice! Would be good to see NG releasing the B777-200LR.
I've flown on their LR last year from GRU to EZE. Reg was ET-ANN :)

By the way, did you attach pictures? The only pic I can see is the boxes all together. Can't see pics of the models.

That was the only picture I attached. I was lazy and did take a picture of each model. 😂
I’ve seen most of the -200 fleet as Atlanta switches between the 789/8 and 777 during the summer, and when the route first started, they used to equipment swap more often.

The Phoenix version of the A359 has just arrived!

It took a while but my first (and probably only for a while) Ethiopian 787-8 came in from Germany. This is the PHX version from I believe 2012, and the type has not been made since then. I would love a newer version of this, but happy to have the complete wide body fleet for the airline.

Here is a little progress update on the Addis Ababa layout, and it is coming along nicely. As of now the project is on hold until next week because my friend Hangar 505 is out of town. The terminal work is down (for now) and I was wondering what is the recommended place to get a terminal? I've heard Clipper Models, Tarmac Designs, and a few others are good, but what is y'alls take on it? I'd rather get these details figure out now, so I can work on the terminal to get it finished at the same time as the mat. I am super excited to see the finished project. From what I've seen it'd be the only prototypical African airport that is out there right now (correct me if I am wrong). As this section only contains T1/2, I will definitely be looking to add the cargo ramp, but in real life, that area is a mess with construction, but I would love to have it.

I’ve been using ClipperModels as of late and I highly recommend. The unfortunate thing is that his schedule is out to november/december as of now so your project won’t be gotten to until about then. Tarmac Designs is also great I hear and uses clippers jetways which is a bonus. It’s looking great so far!

I’ll probably ask around and compare each to see which can get the airport done in a timely manner.
