Ebay prices getting out of hand??

I know it’s nothing new to a lot of us that there are plenty of absurd prices on EBay but I couldn’t help but share this one that I just stumbled upon.. $1000 for a 1:200 model???? I know these are collector items but sheesh this is still a relatively new release that I’m sure can still be found with some diligent searching. Not to mention whom the seller is.

This gives room for offers of any kind and bargaining. There are some really wealthy people who wouldn’t mind paying the premium prices.

In my opinion $1000 far exceeds the value of the model regardless of how rare it is... It's not a bar of gold after all. I could see maybe $600 for rare 1:200 models but $1000 seems a bit extreme.

i agree with you but when its the only model on the market now, he can price it at whatever he wants.

I'm not insinuating he can't price it at what he wants. The point remains the same.

There’s one influencer (won’t name) literally seems like he’s made of money. Buys enough models left and right to fulfill any child’s airport fantasy as well as airport layouts, accessories, realistic flight simulator equipment, giant rc planes, etc. Dude clearly doesn’t give any second thought to finances as they pertain to the hobby (no hate) as money seems to grow on trees for him, but then he goes ahead and lists a few random, mainstream 1:400 GJ models on EBay for $100 a piece. Like really dude?

I fully agree with you, but I guess some Aeroclassics fans aged 60+ and full of spare money won't agree at all

Say no more I have thought the exact same thing... Almost like throwaway toys to him it seems.

I won’t even question what he does for income, he’s lucky and it’s all of our dreams to be able to indulge like that. It’s just crazy how with all that income he opts to penny pinch when it comes to selling. What’s a $40 profit (if the model even sells) when you have the throwaway money to buy like 6 copies of a Sun Country 737-700 (which doesn’t even fly anymore) on a whim?

Stocks too maybe. Haha. I have over 400 models but have really tamed my purchases over the last year or so. Wishing for a convention to come to the DMV area so that I can sell off some models without the crazy eBay fees and taxes.
