Custom United Express CRJ-700

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I am super excited to show you all my custom United crj-700. This is a shapeways 3d printed model that I added custom decals to. Originally I made this into a Delta connection crj-700 which delta used to fly to San Diego from Lax before replacing the route with and e175. So I did some Flightradar24 research and found out United flys the 700 to Santa Barbra and Aspen. So I repainted and added the custom decals to it. Also I’m broke and don’t want to pay 150 for a finger sized airplane.

This is a tutorial you can also do it on chrome or any other device. I did mine on docs. Just print it on clear decal paper for laser or inkjet printer whichever one you have. Look for tutorials on how to apply decals.

Good effort on the custom! It’s a good, next-best thing to do when it comes to finding a model you want but can’t find it. I have the Gemini release of this exact plane and would recommend it, if you can find it nowadays.

Let's spend over $100 on a 2-inch model! "Here we go, boys!"

Nice job. I find shapeways models to be fairly well modelled. Unfortunately the material makes it rough. I'm experimenting with a few right now and was able to smooth out the surface using an automotive clear coat. It fills in the gaps between all the printing layers. This caravan is a first attempt. What I find annoying is that they break easily.

Wow, this is outstanding, how did you do the coat?

Wow very nice aircraft. Love how you took away the roughness of the shapeways models. I have tired a clear coat before. But I made the airplane a mono yellow color after a few weeks.
