collection cards

Not only am I a huge fan of their quality models, but the boxes are extremely attractive to the eye and adds to the uniqueness of this brand. As for the collection cards, well I just absolutely love them and think it has been such a good idea to enclose this with the model.

I was just thinking of starting a thread talking about this!

Collector cards to me are of no value unless they include a unique serial number or something similar.
Otherwise it's just a piece of paper/plastic that looks fancy but doesn't actually do anything for the model but increase the price... Sure it looks fancy but what will you really do with them?
  • Are you likely to use them as trading cards? - I doubt you would trade them away if you're not pairing it with the model
  • Will you display your models with theirs cards? - I doubt it, most collectors also don't display the boxes and the same argument could be made for displaying those
  • Will you create a display just for the cards? - We are model collectors, not card collectors
What's the point?

I like them,
Is something more, and as per our 3D with all the discussion about the price increasing is ‚something more’

If I must display the model ill display also the card

From my prospective with the you model i have also the number of my plane 003/155 and make me more proud about my model.

With the card of my N733PA is a detail more that I can use under the plane. When I’ll have a guest interested in my plane can also read something more about the model.

I like them and I would like to have more.

I think that can be some new option.. like was for the antennas.

IF i must pay more i would have more. And I repeat, the card and the brochure inside YU Model…. Make a wow effect to me.

100% i like more card/brochure than the box gemini jets style.

The format that HX/JC uses might be useful pre-internet. Nowadays we can just look up the tail number and see far more detailed information than could ever fit on those cards.

The cards are a nice touch - but I agree with @1400_Aircraft_Models that unless there's a manufacturer's serial number, it doesn't really matter.
But then, that serial number needs to be somewhere on the model as well - for authenticity - now that's tricky.

Will I miss them if they're not there? No.

For a short time, NG's initial CRP wish models had a collector's card with a QR code - detailing which users supported the wish etc,
That was a really nice feature - and made sense for the CRP program. Curiously it didn't continue for too long.

Oh yes, please don't consider my previous message as the truth that should go for all...

I do think the cards, even if they don't have a serial, look awesome!
It's just that when I purchase a model, I'd rather pay 1$ less and not have a card. It feels like adding a cool card to the model justifies a high price tag whereas I at least just want the model.

Honestly I appreciate nice box art too, but if completely standardised boxes with a small sticker or something would be cheaper (looking at you Aeroclassics and Panda) then I'd prefer that too...

But I cannot deny the beauty of something like a Patriot model that comes with a superb box, a nice stand, a collectors card and a nice envelope either.

I’m pretty indifferent to them personally… I can see why people like them but I tend to just throw them back into the box and into storage it goes Lol. I display my models not the boxes or cards.
