With such a small customer base the A318 has struggled to get into my collection, but the first has just arrived in the form of this CZ example. Formerly B-6188 and operated by Beijing Airlines / China Sonangol. It only flew with them, in VIP configuration, for less than 5 years, from August 2009-May 2014, before being acquired for static display at the China Southern Airlines Guangzhou Industry Education Integration Training Base as an instructional airframe. In real life it doesn't have engines fitted. The box indicates this is an official licensed release for China Southern, and airline Gemini once had the licence for. This model arrived in my most recent engtaobao box as it has been on sale in China for a while now, despite only being announced by NG last month.

I can never have enough of the CZ livery.
Such a timeless scheme.
Classic, yet not nostalgic.
Modern, but not sterile.
And looks fabulous on any aircraft!
That's a rare accomplishment.

I'd put ANA and Air China in the same exceptional category
Of long standing schemes that have withstood the test of time.
And carry a certain brand legacy and assurance - without the need to 'refresh' it ever so often.
(EDIT: Add Singapore & Sichuan )

Which other legacy carrier can you think of that hasn't needed a 'brand refresh' and still wears what they did in 1990? And isn't Air France level sterility 🤣🤣🤣

Singapore!

Yessssss! Right!
I didn't realise until your comment led me to Google it haha - the current livery is from 1987! I'd imagined it was from the mid 90s
Yes they did change the title size etc, but the livery itself hasn't!

And I add one more! Sichuan!

I think this needs to be another thread 🤣
I'm hijacking this one lol
Shandong Airlines;the livery hasn’t change since 1994

cheatlines need to return badly…they’re the key to a timeless classic livery imo. Name any airline with the best livery of all time and I bet well over half include iconic cheatlines (generally of course)
