Building The Flock: The Quest for Frontier Tails

For those of you that watch me on YouTube, you may have seen Herman's Odyssey, my quest to collect every single North Central Airlines model in 400 scale. I started the quest in March 2022 and completed it in February 2025, collecting all nine releases. I am planning to make a direct sequel to that project in the future, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, I've been looking for something else to fleet build, and that "next thing" came along last summer - Frontier Airlines. I took my first flight with them in June 2025 between Sioux Falls and Denver, and flew them three more times on that trip. I initially aimed to get the tails that were produced, those being Georgia the Painted Bunting (A320neo) and later Cubby the Bear (A321), then follow that up with having Wiley the Bison (A320neo) and Hugh the Manatee (A320) be released. Neither has seen the light of day yet, but I'm hopeful for a change in that status soon. I also have a flight with Royal the Harpy Eagle on the A321neo, meaning I've flown every current aircraft type operated by them.

After buying those two additional tails, I started to ponder the idea of collecting every current livery Frontier tail available in 400 scale. This includes the Airbus A320, A320neo, A321, and A321neo. Over the winter, I began committing to the project. There are 24 unique tails that have been released - Grizwald the Bear (Gemini/Velocity) and Poppy the Prairie Dog (Aeroclassics/Gemini) are the only tails to have been duplicated. Below is the list of produced tails along with my current collection status as of this writing. I have 13 of 24 right now, excluding one that's on the way. I'll be documenting the rest of my quest through this thread!

I’m making a ton of Frontier customs now. Making one for @Columbus Aviation rn… I really hope NG and Panda step up. The AC ones are fine but not great…

I hope some brand (better NG or PM) can drop a "CA 359" vibe and just release every single 320 and 321 neos. I've been chasing the tails recently as well but I feel the animal image definition on some AC ones is not very high..
Their print is okay from a distance but upon closer examination it isn’t high quality.
