As you may have noticed I've been quiet for the past week or so and that is because I've been in Marrakesh, Morocco. Great trip and obviously flew into Marrakesh Menara (RAK) airport from Manchester (with EasyJet). RAK is a modern facility so should be a lot nicer than it is frankly. As with many modern airports inside there is barely any seating, way too many shops and almost no views of the airfield, despite all the glass. Traffic was also typically rather boring as well for modern times. Gone are all the classic charter carriers and now there is mainly an endless stream of A320s and 737s from EasyJet, Ryanair, Wizz and Transavia. Only other airlines seen in my hours there were Iberia Express (A320), Volotea (A320), Enter Air (737-800), Aegean (A321) and BA (A321). Local traffic is not high either but there were a pair of RAM 737-800s and probably the highlight was an all-white Saudia A330.
