Are the GeminiJets MD-80 and 737-500 worth getting?

So, I'm planning to get three models. One is an NG American MD-82. I already have an NG American MD-83 and the mould is excellent. My other two purchases are GeminiJets and have no NG counterparts: A United 737-500 in Battleship and a TWA MD-82 in the final livery. Are these moulds any good?

The MD-80 mold is great except for the nose I’ve heard. I don’t know about the 735.

The 735 is a cradle mould with rolling gear and aerials. It is by no means perfect, but still completely serviceable and can look very good, especially the recent Lufthansa releases by JC.

Also, the Gemini/JC -500 doesn't have any real competition unlike their -300/-400

I think that both moulds are worth it. While they aren't perfect (nothing is), they're completely acceptable for me. This is just my personal opinion, and I'm sure there are some out there who will disagree. That's the beauty of opinions...everybody has one.

They are both very ordinary moulds, distinctly average, but like @Purpleplane says they are acceptable when there aren't better options available.

Here's a 737-500 using the mould I reviewed in 2021. I was perhaps a bit generous with the mould score! There aren't any other 737-500s available anyway

Of course the United 737-500 you're asking about has an incredibly incorrect colour for the Battleship grey, which meant I passed on it

Comparing model colors using photos has a myriad of limitations, but I don’t think the color is bad though.

I got to see a number of Battleship grey birds in real life, and when I look at this model it does not hurt my eyes. I am kind of regretting not keeping one for myself.

Well too late. I ordered it. Even if the color is off I plan to display it and because there aren't any alternatives it still is servicable.

I have a model of the UA 737-500 myself, and even though the color appears too light compared to others in the battleship gray scheme, I do recall some aircraft in this scheme had the issue of the gray fading fairly quickly. Because of that..the color is acceptable to me.

I hate Geminis MD-80s and only have two of them, models I hope to eventually replace down the line. For now? they are fine.

I doubt NG will make a TWA MD-80 you know NG they only make major current airlines and Chinese airlines for the most part.
