Flying SAS this summer ORD-CPH-VNO and then later VNO-CPH-ORD. Hope I get that cool A330! I've been on two SAS A330-300s, LN-RKM and -RKT, (and maybe more, because I sent a batch of four SAS flights in 2017 to the Travel Tools forum in FlyerTalk, two of them long hauls)This is effing fabulous![]()

New pic from Shannon. I like this special livery especially because SAS returned to the past when two MD-80s have been painted in Red and Blue.SAS A330-300 LN-RKR at Shannon wearing a special livery for the 80 years of Activity. The airline has been founded on August 1946.

The 80 years livery is growing on me - I do really like the 70 years livery, simple and pretty easy to look at, yet the fading at towards the end of the fuselage looks really weird…New pic from Shannon. You've hit the nail on the head! I've been thinking of why I'm so drawn to this new scheme - and now I know! It reminds me of my fav twin scoop of sea salt caramel + strawberry cheesecake ice-creamis now more "Kawaii", more similar to Japanese pop culture,

Sad pic from Seoul "Incheon" airport: an Asiana Airlines A350-900 in full Asiana livery but with titles removed. This because in the second quarter of 2026 Korean Air and Asiana Airlines merge will be completed and Asiana Airlines brand and livery will disappear from.the sky. Really, really sad!

No, Asiana Airlines will not remain in its full livery. Following its acquisition by Korean Air, the Asiana Airlines brand and its distinctive livery are being phased out, with full integration set for completion by January 1, 2027.
Here are the key details regarding the change:
Livery Removal: Asiana has already begun removing the "red arrow" wing logo of the Kumho Asiana Group and the "ASIANA AIRLINES" text from its aircraft, covering them or updating the livery as part of the merger process.
Merger into Korean Air: The Asiana brand will officially disappear, with all aircraft expected to be repainted in Korean Air’s newly unveiled, modern blue livery following the final integration, according to reports.
Transitional Period: While Asiana operates as a subsidiary, some planes may temporarily fly with altered or hybrid liveries, but the traditional full Asiana livery will not be retained long-term.
New Korean Air Branding: Korean Air revealed a new, modernized blue livery in March 2025 to reflect the merged entity, which will eventually be applied to all former Asiana aircraft.
