Airline News

Wow what a news, at least for Europe: Pegasus Airlines will acquire Smartwings and Czech Airlines for 154 millions euros.

Czech is one of the oldest extant airlines, and a flag carrier with such a rich history.
First brought under Smartwings, and now Pegasus - a real pity to see governments backing out from aviation.
Hopefully the Czech brand will remain, unlike Hawaiian

Still exists, merely like ghost, flying two A320s and four A220-300s.
Almost the same fate of Olympic Airlines, flying the B747-200, A340-300 and A300-600 and now with a regional fleet and completely Aegean subsidiary.
CSA flew A330 and A310 and now Is Smartwings subsidiary.

Reports have surfaced that US airlines are preparing for a potential shutdown of Spirit as early as this weekend. As first reported by The Air Current, two airlines are expecting Spirit to miss a crucial deadline in their bankruptcy filing and suspend operations. Spirit is denying these rumors.

I should stress that this does NOT mean Spirit will shut down, however it is something to watch closely. Let's hope for Spirit to pull through this weekend.
