Sad, but not really surprising...

Why are airlines constantly changing their livery
They changed their livery almost two years ago actually - this is the first widebody in the new schemeWhy are airlines constantly changing their liveryWhen something works, it doesn’t need to be changed, especially into something worse
Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I like this revised livery - the red/maroon is now more central and integral to the scheme - in the previous iteration, it seemed like an afterthought with just a little of it at the edges - maybe there could have been some red/maroon on the V stab in this new scheme - nonetheless it's very smart the way it isI would say that, more than "new" is a revised livery with the blue arriving to the belly instead of ending at rudders level, the missing of light blue, the missing red line under the Aeromexico written and the adding of the blue-red stripes at the end of the fuselage and on the engines.
Agree with you that Is a refreshed livery, something more "modern". Aeromexico was enough intelligent not to completely change livery because, as already said, the livery is one of the most elegant and beautiful of the sky!Unpopular opinion perhaps, but I like this revised livery - the red/maroon is now more central and integral to the scheme - in the previous iteration, it seemed like an afterthought with just a little of it at the edges - maybe there could have been some red/maroon on the V stab in this new scheme - nonetheless it's very smart the way it is

I always wonder who decides when and why an airline had to change livery. Yes, i imagine that the decision Is took by CEO and administrators, but "why" and "when"? Livery change isn't a thing happening "from yesterday to today", it Is a very delicate thing because the livery is the main look of an airline and something wrong could affect everything about an airline. Why and when there Is the need to change livery?Indeed... some airlines don't really need to change at all. Maybe only minor adjustments.
This new Aeromexico livery is not bad IMO but previous was better
