Looks like some sort of uncontained engine failure during takeoff. Plane clipped a warehouse before crashing into an industrial area... the whole situation doesn't look optimistic sadly.

Engine debris found next to the runway. The whole thing kinda reminds me of AA191 back in 1979

This is very upsetting. High-profile aviation accidents like this just shouldn't happen anymore, my condolences to the families of the victims of this terrible loss.

There's a dashcam video from a truck that recorded both the plane crashing right in front of it and the driver's reaction... very traumatizing. Praying for the souls affected.

What a tragedy. Seven died, many injured...engine failure during takeoff and causing all this.
Before the airplane i want to share my deepest respect for all those affected by this tragedy and their families. R.I.P to all death and hoping for a full recover to the injured.
Civil aviation world remains the safest way to move, people can misunderstand this statistic law just because for us humans it is not natural to fly, because each time a plane crashes there are much many wounded respect a car, for example, and because a crashed plane fill the first pages of newspapers and TV.
That said, very sad an MD-11 crashed, beautiful and iconic airplane arrived at the wrong time.

Very sad and unfortunate incident. This makes me feel like it has an eerily similar issue with American Airlines flight 191 decades ago. Rest in peace to all the lives lost in this tragic accident.
