Aeroclassics July 2025 Releases

Very solid release set. I was a bit late to the party today. is the Braniff the only BlueBox for this release or were there others (possibly sold out already)?

Great classics and variety, but i really dont need any of these, even though i want.a few. I will pass this month

I think Aeroclassics should have voting like NG models on future models

It is a strong set and I'm loving the Djibouti, but it also does continue the recent theme of re-releases (often inferior to the originals). Of this set of 11 400 scale models 7 are re-releases, which is curious considering how AK bleats on about other brands lack of originality and has said on previous occasions how he doesn't like re-releases because he wants to keep collector's model prices high (not a policy I agree with I might add).

I myself will probably aim for the Djibouti and the 2 UA DC-8s. It remains a strength of AC that the smaller production runs allow for models like the Djibouti.

In relation to all 3 German 727s the size of the nosecone is a little offputting (also checkout the fineness of printwork on the LH logo by the nose and on the tail). Compare the original, the real thing and the new release:

Also doesn't look like the 727s had those large overwing emergency exits?

Did AC ever release a 721 in LH's late 60's scheme btw? (Titles as seen in your pic)

Overwing exit pathways appeared in the late 60s (IIRC mandatory from 72, but don't nail me on that) - they shouldn't be on an LH 721 as delivered. But when did AC care for correct wing detailing the last time? Must be years ago. But at least the wings aren't grey as on recent 727 releases.

No I don't think so

It's odd they got it right on the earlier releases and wrong now. That photo I used was easy to find online and even if they didn't have the original artwork to work from they could have just looked at the original releases.

I think Aeroclassics is capable of messing up any artwork at this point. The Delta Express 737-200 widget and their recent Northwest 747-400 come to mind.

Richard, you know the history better than most. How likely is it that Aeroclassics, aside from AK himself, would actually have access to photos of the 2005 version, let alone a copy this model? Is it fair to say that none of the current factory workers, or even the factory itself is relevant or involved in the current Aeroclassics model production? I'm sure a lot has changed in that environment since 2005. AK is probably the only constant. Which kind of begs the question, is it oversight, or carelessness?

Fair points, although I am pretty sure AK has a copy of every single model he's ever made in his personal collection. You would have thought he also had copies of all the artwork files but maybe not?

… is that the actual wing join of this model? I could park a whole other 727 in that space.

I have to say that I was pleased to see the Servivensa 721s with the correct black overwing exit pathway instead of the generic 727 overwing markings used by most model brands.
