February 2026 was a WILD month for a SAS collector like me. 5 wonderful new 1:400 releases of some classic frames in SAS colors. My SAS collection just reached 100 models. In additions 4 Scanair models.
MD-81 OY-KHO from Phoenix.
Delivered to SAS in April 1991. This aircraft was involved in a crash shortly after takeoff from Arlanda in December 27, 1991. The "Miracle in Gottröra". Ice from the wings was sucked into the engines and both engines lost power. The pilots miraculously managed to land it in a nearby field in Gottröra. The plane broke into three pieces. Everyone on board survived but a few got minor injuries.
