747 Wishlist

for me personally I would love to see the thai airways 747 in the star alliance scheme as I have seen this in 2019
All ready been done recently by JC Wings. I have one and it's a great model. It is still available in many stores, depending on your location.

Thought I'd make a list of all the pax 747-8s NG could/should make.

Love that Lufthansa retro livery....wish they would've never changed from that scheme.

Yep, the chrome underbelly really made that retro livery pop, bummer it's not there on D-ABYT. Lufty's new livery looks too sterile, and I must say the one before that is quite boring as well.

Yes, the bare metal was awesome on it. Too bad D-ABYT doesn't have it.

While we're on the topic of adding to the wishilist, and now that NG Models has confirmed that they're making the B747 classics, here's my list.

ANA (without "Inspiration of Japan" titles). Any registration is fine, for me.

The 747-400 isn't (yet!) considered a 747 Classic but I get your spirit, great selection of Pokemon Jumbos 😍
Back in the days when Japanese airlines had 747s everywhere... things change, time flies...

I think they can be considered classics soon.
it was revealed 35 years ago....

Much probably indeed!
But maybe the 747-400 isn't considered a 747 Classic because it is much more modern than the earlier models.
Glass cockpit, no need for a F/E, more modern engines, increased wingspan and winglets, more range, etc etc

Yeah.
It depends from point of view you look at it

My list:

Polar Air Cargo B747-100SF/200SF - already released but hard to find and expensive. I'd love to see it re-released by someone... except by Phoenix!

Atlas Air B747-100SF/200SF in the 1990s scheme - same comment as above... Phoenix have released one recently but I had to ignore it, since I strongly dislike their mould.

Atlas_Air_Boeing_747-200F_Wallner.jpg

Cargolux B747-200SF - This beauty was released by Starjets in scale 1:500 but sadly Gemini (owner of Starjets!) didn't duplicate her in 1:400 scale. For this older scheme, i'll have to stick with the Dragon B747-400F version. It's ok, better than nothing, but the 747-200 would be better for me.

Varig B747-300 in the classic "Ícaro" scheme
- already released before, but hard to find and expensive. I'd like to see BigBird (JC) releasing it. They did the Air India recently, so maybe there's hope...

Varig B747-300 in the Landor scheme - a beauty never released in 1:400, except for a Magic release in Star Alliance special scheme. Would love to see this one in a BigBird release.

Evergreen B747-100SF in albino colors - Beautifully released by BigBird in scale 1:500 but sadly not in 1:400.

Corsair B747-100 - The 747-300s were released, but the Gemini versions look really bad... the engine pylons are their weakest part. I'd like to see this short hump beauty, still missing in 1:400. Don't even dare, Phoenix!

For the moment, I guess these are the Jumbos i'd like to have. I'll end up ordering them as custom models.

That just made me realise how many 747 JAL Special liveries there are.
