1:400 ANA SKY SHOP Pokémon Jets

On my recent flight (NH869) from Tokyo Haneda to Manila, I saw these models in ANA's duty free catalog. Naturally, I had to buy them and am sharing some photos with you all here.

It seems that these models were made by Aviation400. These moulds don't have detachable gear, but have all the same basic features as the Aviation400 789 and 77W moulds. I think it was also mentioned somewhere on this forum here by Aviation400 themselves that they had a slowdown in production because they had a project with an airline. As apparent, that project was making these models with ANA.

These models are also a little bit on the pricier side at ¥8800/$60USD. For comparison, the AV400 789 is $49.95USD and 77W is $52.95 on Jetcollector.

Are these AV400 models made for ANA except they dont have any antennas or aerials?

Yes. Same issue with the 1/400 777-300ERs, A350-900s, and A330s that Gemini Jets made for Philippine Airlines pre-pandemic. Seems to be a trend amongst duty free models.

I remember that 10-12 years ago, ANA models sold at ANA Festa store was considered really fancy with very neat packaging and good (i don't mean best) quality for the time and it was also on the pricier side (i.e: a at the time "innovative" 744 FD costs as much as 3 widebody of the same scale, i am not sure for non-special model). The packaging isn't as flashy as before and the price is lowered to be comparable to the model market. One trend I noticed that models exclusively made for airlines for sale these days don't include antennas - maybe that poses a safety hazard?

I started a thread on this forum as well covering the ANA Festa Store a few weeks ago, defintely a store worth visiting! Other than a good variety of 1:200 models, I saw a 1:400 JASDF 777 and an Air Japan 787-8...wish they would bring back staples like a regular livery 787-9 or 777-300ER.
