The story goes that in June 1983, CAAC Acquired 2 iLyushin IL-86's due to the delivery of their 767's being delayed. the IL-86's were retired by May 1985. and went into storage at Beijing and Moscow. In ~1988 the IL-86's were put out of storage. and delivered to Air China, while awaiting delivery of more aircraft. by 1990 the aircraft were retired. and 1 aircraft (B-57J) was scrapped soon afterwards. the other aircraft (B-57) was delivered to Atlant-Soyuz Airlines. with the registration "RA-55123" the aircraft was then finally scrapped in 2013, ater atlant-soyuz airlines went into liquidation.
