YY 1:400 il-76MD China Air Force 21042

In the early 1980s, the Soviet Union developed a new model, the Il-76TD, based on the Il-76T, namely the long-range transport aircraft. Its engine is the improved D-30KP-2 engine with a maximum thrust of 12.5 tons. In the late 1990s, Russia began to develop an improved version of the Il-76TD. Due to the lower fuel consumption of the engine, the aircraft's range increased by 13%.

China has imported Il-76 many times, mainly a batch of new aircraft in the late 20th century and used aircraft from 2007 to 2014.

In 2005, China tried to jointly restart the Il-76 production line with Russia and Uzbekistan, but it fell through due to the global economic recession caused by the 2008 subprime crisis.

This batch of YY models are used aircraft imported from Russia and Belarus from 2013 to 2014, which served from 1988 to 1994. (No. 20541, No. 21041, No. 21042, No. 21043, No. 21044, No. 21045, No. 21046, No. 21047, No. 21048, No. 21049, No. 21140)
There is also a saying that No. 21041 is the first of the 10 Il-76MDs imported by the Chinese military in 1991.
Of course, after all it happened before my lifetime, and the information has not been verified, so it may not be accurate.

No. 21041 once performed an air transport mission to support Wuhan in 2020.
No. 21042 once welcomed the remains of volunteer martyrs back to China in 2018.
No. 21043 visited Nanjing Lukou International Airport on January 24, 2020, also performing a mission to support Wuhan.
