To Upgrade, Or Not to Upgrade?

In the past couple of years I've found myself grappling more often with whether a model I already own should be replaced by a new version that I hope will be an upgrade. There have been some disappointments along the way but also some significant improvements. I was originally just going to post about a couple of new replacements but it turned into a full blogpost with my thoughts on the topic. How often have you been upgrading models in your collection?

Being a retro collector since 2017, I missed many of the good old releases from Dragonwings and Aeroclassics/Bigbird. It's good because I don't have to think about replacing old models, but sad because todays quality is often on par or even worse than 20 years ago! Let's hope NG will put their new moulds to good use, I'm getting tired of all the lazy efforts, boring (re-)releases and bad QC.

I've done it before and still do it when possible :)
I usually sell the old one and use the money to buy the new one.
