The final 747.

Very lame work by Atlas! This bird deserved a true special livery. This sticker, despite a good homage to the father of the 747, was already done by Cargolux before, and doesn't celebrate the final Jumbo at all. Quite underwhelming.
Indeed, you could even argue that the Cargolux one was better...

Yes and yes... seems like an afterthought too.

Regarding the Phoenix vs. NG debate, here are the words of an admittedly subjective collector: Get whatever you want and enjoy it. The Phoenix mold is not bad. Let's be thankful that it is not a 747-200 or -400 that we are talking about here. It could have been JC's mold also. Plus, chronologically speaking, whether we like it or not, the Phoenix release will be the 1:400 model commemorating the delivery of the last 747. If NG wanted to be the manufacturer in charge of doing so, they could have started by having their mold out by now. You can always also get the NG one when it comes out to commemorate NG's first 747-8F release IF they ever do so. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.

…just for curiosity, I checked this 747 in flightradar24 right now and it seems as if it’s not in use yet. That makes me wonder as it’s brand new and considering the costs a grounded aircraft generates… 🤔
