Welcome to my 1/400 scale airports thread! At this moment I have eight 1/400 scale airport serie going on my YouTube channel, KMSP, KAZO, KGEG, KFAT, PGUM, KPVD, KRSW, and a fictional KPSL. In the future I plan on making TNCM. Other than KMSP and KAZO all of my airports are temporary. I build my airports out of whatever scrap material I can find (usually model plane and 1/64 scale car boxes). Feel free to use this thread as a guide to make cheap or as I’ve joked myself “lazy” airports. I will start by remaking my KAZO airport which, if you follow my YouTube channel, you know how it is in much need of a makeover.

Gate foils are completed with help from the Mile High Aviation trademarked Posca markers. Due to Kalamazoo being a smaller airport I am able to add in some more subtle details that will hopefully contribute massively to making the airport look even more realistic.

Fun Fact: according to Google Earth, the taxiway lines do not have the black outline at Kalamazoo. Less work for me I guess.

A piece that does not get enough love on the channel but is always an asset on the MSP airport layout. My grandpa constructed the hangar out of a shoebox. A simple yet great build.

After another long night of research and work, retro AZO is complete. I cannot tell you how hard it was to find information and photos of Kalamazoo pre 2011. Neverthenonetheless, I think I achieved the gate markings as close as possible.

Personally, I think the state liveries look better on the -700s
