Model Review - China Eastern A350 by Aero Polaris

Aero Polaris is a new brand that now has both an A350 and 737-800. My latest package from Taobao included their first A350 and it is incredibly similar to the Panda Models mould, aside from one thing. The plus side of that is that it means there is another excellent A350 available in the scale:

When Aero Polaris first appeared late last year as a reincarnation of HYJLwings its first mould announced was an Airbus A350. Subsequently, its first actual releases were some 737-800s and in the past few months HYJLwings has also reappeared as a separate

Panda have said they aren't involved so its similarity is curious.

I'd say that majority China Southern special schemes work well as their tail logo is contained within a closed shape, and the base scheme itself is beautiful.

China Eastern really needs a refresh.

This is a joint themed flight recently launched by the Shanghai Museum and China Eastern Airlines，Even though I don't like the logo and base color combination, I would buy this model in a heartbeat if it came out. Let's guess who will release this model first, Phoenix or NG?

I might need to find a way to get the Air France version to replace my new NG. The new cockpit lines on some of the NGs sit too high nowadays.

These seem to have limited availability in the United States. I've only seen Aero Polaris models at one retailer, and only the 737s. I'm sure that will be a hurdle for U.S. buyers.

Agreed, but at the moment every new model is a hurdle for US buyers!

I might need to find a way to get the Air France version to replace my new NG.

People used to get rid of earlier models and replace them with NGs, and now NGs are the ones being dumped. Sign of the times, I guess

Just received my Aero Polaris Air France A350-900 F-HUVJ today. What a beauty!

In the photos I am comparing NG’s Finnair A350-900 to Aero Polaris’s AF A350.

- Aero Polaris has slightly less pointy nose
- Aero Polaris has bigger cockpit windows, positioned lower than NG’s (some of NG’s recent releases have windows printed too high, e.g. the JAL A350-900s or -1000s last month)
- Aero Polaris has different shades of grey on the two-stage engine exhaust cones (one might argue AV400’s light silver + blue or Aero Polaris’ is accurate depending on the engine’s age, turning darker grey as it racks up time)
- Ample engine ground clearance on Aero Polaris, same as NG (and unlike Panda Model’s tight ground clearance)
- NG’s A350 has a shorter vertical stabiliser
- NG has shorter, wider flap track fairings (as pointed out by Richard already)
- NG’s A350 feels heavier on my hand (maybe subjective)

Overall, it is a really, really tight race! Can see these two being the best A350 moulds out there and down to personal preferences! (I prefer the Aero Polaris alas.)

Will leave to Richard at Yesterday Airlines on the height of the vertical stabiliser and which one is more accurate…

Great review. I just had a look at my Aero Polaris vs the NG and the vertical stabs are the same height but the NG sits lower at the tailend like yours does. The Aero Polaris actually near matches the Panda for tail stance. This difference is probably because of the maingear trucks on the Aero Polaris and Panda are of a different design to the NG.

I'm convinced the Aero Polaris is a clone of the Panda mould, but without a standhole and with the engines fitted properly!

If someone has a caliper at hand...
A correct A350's v.tail is 23.55mm high at trailing edge.
A359's total height is 42.85-43.68mm pending on load and CG.

The AeroPolaris tail looks slightly off in shape.

I was going to say the same thing. To me, after looking at Richard's photos, it actually looks like the shape of the APU is a bit different. That's just me though.

The NG’s APU has a more circular shape.



The Aero Polaris Air France A350 has an oval shape, which I think is more similar to the real aircraft?
