I'm liking what I've been seeing from Kylin Models both in terms of their moulds and willingness to improve them too. Their impact in the hobby feels like it will grow quite a lot in 2026 and in today's review I take a closer look at the 'Azores Glider':

I think the main gears should be slightly taller. This seems to be an issue with many A330s in 1:400 - JC/GJ have this same issue.
The slight nose-down stance of the A330 is absent on these models because of that.

The cockpit windows - the two front windows actually - should be larger IMO. Quite noticeable in this pic comparison:

100% agree on the cockpit and I did mention maingear height to them too, which they actually disagreed with me on

The comparison illustrates what's off with the cockpit/nose/forehead/chin region AC lineage models.
Aside from the cockpit print and the curve down from the cockpit to radome point (both pretty minor) I don't really see anything off. I'd take the Kylin or NG versions over the other available A330s - Aeroclassics too if their printing and detailing was better

The tail section of this mould needs serious refinements; the curvature is too flat and the vertical stab is a bit off(looks wider than actual aircraft). It got the similar issues as Aeroclassics/pm/ng on the wingbox fairing shape, just compare to a photo of the actual aircraft and it is quite obvious. Other than that the winglets shape and the wingtwist could be done better

I'd love if when people made these kind of comments they backed them up with some evidence. You make it sound like the mould has major issues when it clearly doesn't.

Looking at the areas you mention against the real thing and I can't really see any major issues at all. In fact I'd go so far as to say there isn't anything I'd bother really fixing at all:

I would say this mould requires minor tweaking at the nosecone, wing join curve, engine pylon and underside intakes and otherwise it is pretty much spot on. You could modify the fans but they don't bother me. As it is it competes easily with any other A330 in 400 scale.

Which other A330 is as good as this one? Phoenix, Aviation400, JC Wings? They are all inferior. The Aeroclassics lacks details and print. That just leaves the NG as being better.

So far from serious refinements I am finding the constant over criticism of these A330s as rather bizarre myself. Lastly Kylin are modifying several areas, even ones I wouldn't bother touching.

You're comparing different tails there😉

And I'd still appreciate more than 'bit off' and 'looks wider' as a criticism.
What would you like to see?
This 332 was an early model with an early taller v.tail. Kylin obviousely doesn't have a mould for this (NG at least had a sample for it but never used it)
What Kylin has is modified tail (later built 332s), but not a really great one.

I was talking more about the general criticisms - not aimed at you. What I want to see is evidence to support all these points @Theresa apocalypse222222 made. He might be right but I don't see any of the things he's mentioned as being serious or even real issues aside from the v stab shape as you mention.
