Is this KLM A321neo by NG Models defective?

Hey everyone,

I recently got this KLM A321neo by NG Models and I was wondering if it was defective as the left engine and front landing gear look crooked and wonky, I might be going insane here but if someone could check to make sure it would be much appreciated, if it does turn out to be defective would it be worth it to send it back for a replacement model?

Thanks,

To be fair this is a pretty high quality model for 400 scale. Errors far more grievous than this are common in 400 scale releases from all brands - some produce models with far far worse errors regularly. I doubt a retailer would accept this model back as neither of the issues you point out are clear errors. The only way you to find models that have a higher quality rate than this would be to buy from a bricks and mortar retailer where you can individually inspect the models.

I always expect something to be a little off when purchasing a model online . Whether it’s crooked gears , crooked aerials, engines slightly off, paint issues, slight bent wings, I never expect and really don’t even think I have never received a “perfect model”. I wish it wasn’t this way but over the years I’ve realized this is just one of the things we will always deal with in this hobby. Especially now will so many details, aerials , fragile gears on these new models, but that’s the price you pay for a small model with the level of detail nowadays. Years ago before aerials, static landing gear that was oversized, these issues may have happened less but I’d rather take the trade off for the impressive detail on newer models . I’d bet that even if this model was replaced, the new copy would have its own set of “errors”.
