Ecuatoriana: The Rainbow Fleet

Back in 2016 I wrote a 3 part avhistory series on Ecuador's old flag carrier. The release of the A310 by Aeroclassics has given me the opportunity to revisit it, update the text and add new photos. So once again with even more colour here's the story of Ecuatoriana from 1979-1993:

As for the A310 itself, while I appreciate the release and don't regret acquiring it, as is common with Aeroclassics it could have been improved. Clearly they didn't bother colour matching with earlier models or photos because several of the colours are too light. The cockpit print is too low and the left engine is drooping (fairly common on their A310s). The Pratts on this A310 mould are rather oversized too.

This livery was amazing! The A310, while a very nice release, sadly have some defects. The colors are too light indeed, the engines are oversized and the nose setion seems to be overpolished? Doesn't look as round as it should in the curved area between the radome and the nose gear. These cockpit windows could also be enhanced, as the two front windows are too small when compard to the side windows.

Following on from yesterday's part 2 I have now rewritten and added new photos for part 3 too. After not flying for several years using its own metal Ecuatoriana was reborn under the leadership of VASP of Brasil. Unfortunately, the economic crisis in Ecuador in the late 90s and VASP's own troubles meant the ride was very bumpy:
