This Boeing 757-28S was first delivered to China Xinjiang Airlines on July 7, 1998.

In 2005, following the merger of China Xinjiang Airlines into China Southern Airlines, the aircraft joined the China Southern fleet.

It officially ended its passenger service with China Southern on April 3, 2018, and was later converted into a freighter for operations by YTO Cargo Airlines.

After the 1988 CAAC restructuring, three original Boeing 757s (B-2801, B-2802, B-2803) operated by CAAC were transferred to China Southern Airlines.

Around 1990, China Southern introduced another 30 Boeing 757s, becoming China's largest operator of the type.

The 757 also served as the main workhorse for China Southern Airlines Xinjiang Branch.

Since the first delivery in 1987, the Boeing 757 has provided 31 years of passenger service in China.

A total of 65 passenger-configured 757s served Chinese civil aviation, carrying over 50 million passengers.

Renowned for its excellent high-altitude performance and economic efficiency, the 757 became one of the main workhorses of Chinese civil aviation.

Today, the Boeing 757 is out of production and gradually retired from passenger service worldwide.

However, converted freighters remain active in China's domestic cargo market.

Most retired 757s from China have been acquired by foreign airlines and continue to operate globally, still playing an active role in the world's civil aviation fleets.
