YY 1:400 Il-76MD China Air Force 21043
Manufactured by HX
No brand has launched an Il-76 model for a long time. The last brand that released the Il-76 may have faded into obscurity?
HX’s Il-76 models in 200/400 scales have greatly filled the market gap, so I seized the good opportunity to get the set of 21041/2/3. The overall quality of these products is also excellent
HX’s Il-76 mold has good shape accuracy and rich details, especially the tail control surfaces, under the wings and near the main wheel wells. It is not easy for the engines to achieve hollow design and ensure texture in such a small size. The difference between the two antennas on the nose is also reflected. Similarly, the printing details are rich. Personally, I appreciate the same details on the main wheel wells and the lower part of the wing roots. Although these two parts are easily blocked and ignored during normal model handling, HX still does the printing details well just like other parts. Both printing and assembly of HX are excellent, largely avoiding skewed printing and skewed assembly. The overall paint finish is good, which can well reflect the texture of the real aircraft
There are still some problems, for example, there is a slight difference in paint color between 1:200 and 1:400 scales, and I don’t know which one is more accurate
In addition, due to the small and complex structure of the landing gear, the one on the model is wider. The front landing gear is okay, but the inner wheels of the main landing gear will get stuck with the fuselage, affecting the smooth rotation effect that was originally intended. Checking [49.1], we can find that the wider part comes from the connecting piece between the tires.
Another issue is the stand. Due to the special belly structure of the Il-76, the stand is easy to fix insecurely and may cause paint scratches. Personally, I think the stand pole could be changed to the same blue as the base. Firstly, it looks more coordinated, and secondly, it can avoid paint scratches.
It should be noted that these problems are relatively minor compared with the breakthroughs HX has made in the Il-76 model. However, since they are found, it is better to put them forward—maybe they will be improved later
Overall, HX’s batch of Il-76 models is excellent with high cost performance. Hope other themes can keep up in the future
