    JC Wings 2026 February Releases

Out of curiosity, what’s the issue with JC? Are they really constrained by Gemini in what they can do, or just lackadaisical?

CX is taking legal action against brands that are releasing the unlicensed 80th livery models

I think part of it may just be down to company culture - some companies are more litigious than others. Even if Cathay/Swire is losing negligible amounts of money to unlicensed models, it may just have a trigger-happy legal department with too much time on their hands. A lot of this is possibly...

As a person new to collecting, is JetCollector the best there is?

If you buy at retail, yes, but Waffle has weekly eBay auctions with occasional good finds. The guy who runs the store is also kind of infamous around here for his temperament, so there’s that.

As a person new to collecting, is JetCollector the best there is?

I often use JetCollector - they’re reliable, if a little more expensive, and they’re very responsive to inquiries. I’ve also used others - ezToys, ScaleModelStore, futurewings, Prarie Diecast - without issue, and I’ve even snagged some deals with Waffle. The one retailer I would avoid at nearly...

Pictures of the new ARD Models 1:400 Boeing 747 Range.

Nice, they got the Landor font right!

HX Models - News & Discussion

Correct. This reflects the original design of the 747-300 wing assembly; note the wing-body fairing (WBF) is similar to that of the 747 classics. The last -300s to come off the line (like VR-HON) adopted an assembly similar to that of the new -400.

HX Models - News & Discussion

Basically the cathay 747-300 - it used the -400 wing with the winglets removed. The frame that’s the subject of the model had the newer WBF introduced on the -400.

    Aviation400 New announcements

Were these AI images made by AV400, or just someone trying to karma farm? If the former, I’d be a bit surprised - they have good moulds, so why not let the finished products speak for themselves?

    Aviation400 New announcements

I expect the Alaska to be a good one - I have several other AV400 787s that I'm very happy with

FUTURE RELEASE: Gemini Jets United 787 “100 Years”

Does Gemini use the JC mould for 787s these days?

Could any business that's using the name of "Gemini" be sued by Gemini Jets?

I think it’s less about GeminiStar being a Chinese company, and more that they don’t do business in the US (assuming Gemini Jets would sue in a US court). I doubt GJ would go through the trouble and expense of a foreign court where trademark laws might be different.

Who will be granted to produce the Cathay 80th anniv. green-white stripes old livery models

OTOH I actually think the green cheatline is quite flattering on the A350, at least from the pictures we’ve seen.

This is accurate; G-BNLA was withdrawn from service in 2009, and so never got the crest added to the livery, which only started rolling out after 2010.

What is the propper way to clean my models?

Also a can of compressed air would be useful for removing loose dust without rubbing your models too much. I use it to clean other stuff around my home as well.

I’m thrilled for the BA Landor, I just hope they get the title font right (unlike BigBird)
