    Display Stands in 400 Scale

Great subject! I was never really satisfied with having only these standard size stands that are often bulky on the base and manufacurer specific. Today I would recommend anybody in 400 scale that is into 3d printing this as a great beginner project. I got into it about a year ago and they are...

    Aeroclassics January 2026 Releases

I believe the Swissair DC9 Cargo is unfortunately a fantasy plane. I find no evidence that IFZ was ever Cargo and in that livery. IFW was. Or am I missing something?

    V1:400 First Release Announcement

What an amazing release set Richard! Great idea to start with the house colors and never released ones. I think re-releasing the DC9 in house colors would be worth while as well as it is hard to come by and been forever. Also since you talk to a Swiss retailer - the Swissair DC9-15 was never...

    Show Your Latest 1:400 Purchase

On the right is my latest acquisition from a collection sale - the Lufthansa DC-10 from Dragon Wings with chrome finish. It will replace the GJ version on the left in my collection.

    Phoenix wheels melting acrylic?

It cannot be wiped away - it feels like glue dots almost. Here a picture with more contrast. I guess you can guess the plane type that was displayed in this one 🙈. I am not sure what type of acrylic the displays are exactly.

    Phoenix wheels melting acrylic?

I have a very particular situation and was wondering if anybody else encountered similar issues. I had bought some acrylic drawer stacks to store/display 1/400 models. They work great - only B747-8 and A380s won’t fit. I was however encountering an issue I was not expecting - Phoenix models in...

How many times we need to educate some sellers or retailers how to properly pack models

Just learned something new today - I believe to check if packing peanuts are bio degradable hold a few under running water - if they dissolve in seconds they are - shoutout to Jetcollector for using such - one more reason they have become my preferred retailer now.

How many times we need to educate some sellers or retailers how to properly pack models

Fair point about packiging so a model does not get damaged. That said - I do NOT want to see packing peanuts or the plastic pillows - way more environmentally friendly options out there these days. All the packaging is thrown out by me since I rarely ship models. Many make fun of the newspaper...

    Interested in Your Opinion

I think throwing PHX in the same category as JC that there is no idea when these models come out is a bit of stretch. Their announcements and releases are pretty well timed. Even though I agree that at the current moment they may take a bit longer than usual - but nowhere near JC or Aviation...

HX Models - News & Discussion

Really great to see more retailers carrying the HX models. I had missed out on some earlier ones. Hope we keep seeing them - maybe even as pre-order to avoid the fomo.

    Aeroclassics July 2025 Releases

Very solid release set. I was a bit late to the party today. is the Braniff the only BlueBox for this release or were there others (possibly sold out already)?

Phoenix Models July 2025 Release Hints

Just realized IL62 SP- is possibly LOT. I assume older livery but would love to see the newer livery as I never got my hands on the GJ release.

Phoenix Models July 2025 Release Hints

The A350 HB- will probably either be HB-IFB which is Swiss’ 2nd A350 and in regular livery or another Edelweiss A350 - possibly HB-IHF.
